The "Walk for all for life” project will be implemented over a period of 24 months, between January 2019 and December 2020.
As a collaborative partnership, W4AL includes a series of interconnected activities which are organized as follows:
- Work Package (WP) 1: Management, coordination and Monitoring: CSI - IT
- Work Package (WP) 2: Communication and dissemination: CSI - IT
- Work Package (WP) 3: Analysis of the Contest & Best Practices: CJD - DE
- Work Package (WP) 4: Staff Training: EGVE - GR
- Work Package (WP) 5: Implementation & Testing: SCF - IT
- Work Package (WP) 6: Evaluation & Quality Assurance: GEN.CAT. - ES
Work Package 1: Management, coordination and Monitoring
WP Leader: Centro Sportivo Italiano - CSI
The aim of this WP is to ensure the effective implementation of all project actions and to guarantee the financial management. Moreover, general scope of monitoring in particular is to support management processes through regular collection and analysis of data from all partners; the goal is therefore to implement the project under controlled conditions and to learn from the collected information to activate improvement actions.
Objectives:
Work Package2: Communication and Dissemination
WP Leader: Centro Sportivo Italiano (CSI) – P1 (IT)
For the realization of all the project activities, it will be necessary to create an elaborate and precise strategic communication and promotion plan, addressed both within the working group and externally, which allows to spread in all the countries involved the objectives and purposes underlying the project.
The Centro Sportivo Italiano will be responsible for the communication strategy and will act as a coordination centre for the definition, implementation and related scheduling of individual activities, but all decisions will be taken collegially, taking advantage of the greater knowledge of their country by the other project partners.
Objectives:
The main objectives of the communication and promotions plan will be based on three main directions:
Work Package 3: Analysis of Best Practices on Walking
WP Leader: CJD – P7 (DE)
Objectives:
Work Package 4: Staff Training (EU Joint Staff Training)
WP Leader: EGVE – P3 (GR)
Before starting with the implementation of the different walking footpaths, the trainers of the different countries participating in the project will have the opportunity to carry out a specific training programme.
Part of the training will be carried out in the classroom and in the field to test and verify directly and practically some aspects; another part through the APP project and a platform provided by CSI, where it will be possible to load slides, videos (webinars) but also to create some virtual classrooms for carrying out some training modules.
The course includes the different types of walking with the different features and difficulties of each type of route. Staff training will be a necessary moment to help trainers both from a technical sporting point of view and from a managerial point of view too for the organization and management of the different walking groups based on: terrain, climate, landscapes, etc.
Educational approaches and issues connected with working with adolescents will be tacked too.
The project aims to promote a culture of physical activity as a healthy lifestyle and active citizenship, to support the well-being of inactive young people. The training activity includes sports promotion as well as education through sport, which means to render service to the person, the community and society.
The training programme provided by W4AL is divided in two:
1) ON SITE training
2) ONLINE learning.
The ON SITE training will give the basis for the training of the STAFF and provides also a practical session to deepen the techniques in the field and learn specific exercises. This training will be organized in Bergamo (Italy) at CSI and will be addressed to a selected number of coaches/trainers/PA instructors from partners’ organisations, that is 3/4 people from each partner, for a total number of 22 participants.
The on-site course will have a duration of about 16h, and can be organized in 2-3 days, depending on arrangements on travel and accommodation.
The ONLINE sessions will provide a more specific training programme about the discipline of walking, a deepening of teaching and promotion of the activity.
It will be organised around a total of 8h. The online contents will be usable through the APP itself or through a web platform provided by CSI which also provides virtual classrooms where staff members could exchange, talk, make questions, learn together etc. CSI’s platform was already tested in the framework of the MAPS project and proved to be very effective. Some learning materials will be in the form of webinars which could be followed online (direct view) or in later moments. All staff involved in the project especially in the testing phase at partners’ organisations could access these materials, thus enlarging the number of people trained in this project (expected users of these learning materials is about 45-50 people: coaches, PA instructors, trainers, etc.).
Objectives of the training, as stated, is to train staff on walking activities by providing:
Work Package 5: Implementation & Testing
WP Leader: Scuola Centrale Formazione (SCF) – P2 (IT)

The ultimate objective is to observe if and to what extent young people improve their health situations, increase their physical activity performances, enhance their participation and exchange with others.
Work Package 6: Evaluation & Quality Assurance
