4-H Project Story:

I started by buying some fabric, but I had to make sure that the fabric was machine wash safe first. Then I had to find the right pattern. This year had its own challenges, I ended up needing to add more length in various spots on the pattern. I also decided to add a liner for structure which was a new things to learn as the pattern did not include that. After I found the right pattern, I had to lay it out & start cutting the fabric and keeping in mind where the changes I made were. After I cut the fabric I had to figure out what needed to be sewn where, & I started sewing. I messed up a handful of times, but I never gave up. Next time, I will work on getting cleaner and straighter stitches on the darts.

My Goal(s):

My goal is to get better at sewing clothing projects by paying close attention to all of the small details. I also want to end up with a final product that fits me perfectly and that I am very proud of.

Reflection:

My goal in clothing was always to end up with a piece of clothing that not only fit me perfectly, but be something that I could be proud of. I believe that this year I truly did accomplish my goal. I also have pushed myself each year to try something new and reach a new difficulty, which I believe I have done this year as well. I hope that next year I can accomplish all of this as well as keeping all of the little details looking perfect and precise.
