Criminal charges can have many benefits for the school communities, making it safer, better, and more secure for students to be in. A safe learning environment is a healthy, successful one! This will lead to improvements in, and outside of school.
Our proposed policy is criminal punishments to those children who choose to participate in school violence. We chose this solution because we believe it will keep children safe and lower down the percentage of school violence. For this to be possible, we would need the legislative branch to ratify a new law. Lawmakers pass laws that define what counts as school violence, such as assault, battery on school property, possession of weapons in school, school shootings, terroristic threats, and lastly, sometimes bullying, or cyber bullying. After this proposed law were to be passed, we will be able to notice an extreme decline in school violence. This would be because this policy will take care of the violence, encourage kids to not be violent, and remove harm from our community.
Our policy for our community is criminal punishment for violence in school to mitigate violent behavior. We are going to charge more severe punishments by adding more penalty for campus misconduct. This will not only keep OTHER students from engaging in violent behaviors, but also remove the danger that has already taken place in schools. Some may say it's a bad idea because of the fact that some students will drop out of school or go to online school, however by having staff and a policy for school violence we can have a safer community and environment in schools.
