Suspensions or corporal punishments can lead to negative outcomes like lower academic grades, and students are likely to drop out more. These measures to stop violence could lead to higher anxiety and could even damage students'mental health, this could lead to students fearing school staff and even aggressive behavior.
Students may feel targeted and parents will think it was taken too far, however if we followed all the steps under the Thirteenth Amendment we can address the problem in our community and prevent school violence in our lives.
Other cons include parents removing their kids from school and putting them in online school. This can lead to students not working, or learning to their full potential, while other students will drop out of school, and some will simply be afraid of being at school and making a mistake that will take them to jail. However, if every student follows the rules, there will be no need for them to be incarcerated, or scared of being at school.Â
Ways it can affect Parents and Children :
Fear/Anxiety- They might start to panic and feel unsafe at school and not want go
Aggressive/Anger- Students may not like the new rule and might try to start a fight to rebel
Afraid to mess up- Children will be paranoid over every mistake they commit in school
