Most addictions tend to start inside hospitals due to the fact that they are heavily exposed to multiple medications. As one of our teammate's mother is a nurse and they were informed about this situation. She has seen multiple patients fall into drug addiction due to how often they consume medications. While this is a big problem, the patient may or may not get the dosage they need.
Drugs can be easily created as people have access to products used to make them. While we can't ban the products, we can raise the price like a sin tax. If drug makers can't afford a larger quantity of these products, they will make the price of the drugs higher to sell to the dealer causing the drugs to be much more expensive and not affordable. This will help many people from being able to afford drugs and to lower the rates of drug addictions.
Each of these alternative solutions are wonderful and well thought out policies, however just like each policy they have their flaws. The limitation on the medication may interfere with one who needs it. If the doctor doesn't trust a patient with good intent to use it for its purpose. That civilian may not get the correct amount of treatment needed. Raising prices for chemicals used to make drugs can not only affect drug dealers but many corporate companies That provide supply intended for good purpose have to buy that supply. With the supplement being raised the corporate has to raise the price of the product being sold which will affect others.
