Our kindergarten writing program is based on Lucy Calkin's Units of Study, and the kindergarten units we focus on include narrative writing, informational writing, and opinion writing. At CES we spend part of our instruction time helping students organize their thoughts and writing. To highlight our kindergarten writing program, we have several opportunities for students to publish their writing to share outside our classroom. Some of our publishing opportunities include: Letters to Santa in the Campbellsport News, Classroom Collaborative Books that are shared with families, and our Bear Research Writing.
