Students must take the three core subjects of the Diploma Programme: "Theory of Knowledge", "Monograph" and "Creativity, Activity and Service".
They must also choose one subject from each of the six groups, with the possibility of changing group VI for one of the subjects in groups II, III and IV. Three subjects will be at Higher Level (HL or NS) and three at Intermediate Level (SL or NM). The language used in each subject corresponds to the title of the subject.
The pathways indicated in the table are indicative, both in terms of subjects and levels. In some cases, depending on the degree course to be studied, the Higher Level (HL) should be chosen instead of the Intermediate Level (IL). For example, depending on the engineering degree, it is advisable to choose Physics NS.
In order to guarantee compliance with the time load required by the IB DP for each of the subjects, students may only redo their study plan up to 12th October of the year in which the Diploma Programme begins. The change from NM to NS in the subjects in which this option is provided for before enrolment for the exams (in November of the 2nd year) will be possible until the same date as the change of subjects.
In accordance with current regulations in the Balearic Islands, the change from the Diploma Programme to the National Baccalaureate is only permitted up to 1st February of the year in which the first year of the DP is taken.
