Ms. Muncer

Hello Fabulous 3rd Graders!

My name is Dina Muncer and I'm entering my 23rd year teaching, all of which have been at Holland Elementary School. Over the years, I've taught in some capacity in Kindergarten, First, Third, Fifth and Sixth grades, and served for two years as an Instructional Support Teacher. For the last four years, I've been back at home in third grade, where I started my teaching career. I am a Certified Responsive Classroom trainer, both for our district, and the Center for Responsive Schools. To know me is to know that I love kids and love what I do! Holland is a very special place. The teachers here are not only colleagues but some of my closest friends. I consider HES, my home away from home.

I live in Willow Grove, PA with my two kids Mikey (an 11th grader) and Shannon (a 9th grader), my mom Diane, and our precious dog Honey! We are an on-the-go family, running to wrestling and softball practices, matches, and games. During the summers, we love to spend our time at the beach. We love to visit our family in Brigantine, NJ, and this summer we were able to travel to Boston and Maine for vacation.

A few things you need to know about me...

1) I'm a ridiculous Philadelphia Eagles fan!

2) I love to read books to kids...Patricia Polacco, Peter Reynolds, and Mr. Frank Murphy are among my favorite authors.

3) I am a huge Harry Potter fan! I can still remember reading The Sorcerer's Stone, to my first group of third graders over twenty years ago. I've been working over the years on the characters' voices....and I've got a pretty good Hagrid and Hermione!

4) I believe in the power of community, working hard, and being kind. I believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I believe kids need opportunities to be creative, and to play and move in order to learn. I believe in accepting and celebrating all of our differences and special gifts! I believe this is going to be a great school year! I believe in YOU!!

Love,

Ms. Dina Muncer
