STEM-tastic Families!
Welcome to a new school year! First, I am so happy you're a part of the SCE family this year! At Sue Crouch we love hard, work hard and play hard and I cannot wait to see your little learners grow. My full name is Ms. Ruffin-Hawthorn, but kiddos just call me, Ms. R-H.
I've been an educator for 9 years and at Sue Crouch + Crowley ISD for 6!
I am the STEM Plus & Gifted and Talented specialist at SCE I am so excited to help your little problem solvers grow. Please check out the STEM and GATE sections for more information on STEM Plus and Gifted & Talented at Sue Crouch.

What is STEM+?
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. At Sue Crouch, we have a lot of creative kiddos, so often times we practice STEAM (the A stands for Art) and engage the left and right brain together!
In Crowley ISD, STEM Plus is for all! This means that our district STEM Plus team creates, designs, writes and executes STEM Plus engineering lessons for students Pre-K-5th (and this year 6th-9th.)
Through STEM experiences, your students will be exposed to engineering design challenges, district STEM competitions, STEM labs, and Project Based-Learning.
As the STEM Plus specialist, I will work along side your child's teacher to help facilitate STEM experiences for all students on campus.
