Dear Enrichment Parents,
Crossroads Academy-Central Street provides a rich mosaic of enrichment education services and learning opportunities designed to meet and support the unique cognitive, social and emotional needs of high potential students. Over the past couple of years, we've heard from enrichment students and parents that they want additional time in the program and want their regular daily classroom work to be more challenging.
In an effort to best meet the needs of our enrichment students in the 2017-2018 school year, we are revamping the Enrichment Program to provide a more inclusive and opportunity-rich approach. The content of the program will remain the same:
*please see the curriculum section for an in-depth description of each
The formatting of the program will change to allow students to participate in enrichment activities more often in their classrooms than outside of the classroom. Instead of having enrichment once a week, students will have enrichment embedded into their daily work. Personalized learning plans in the above content areas will be created for every student in the program. To track academic, social, emotional, and project progress, students will meet 1:1 and/or in a small group with an enrichment coordinator several times a week. The classroom teacher and enrichment coordinator will collaborate on the personalized learning plan and sign-off on a tracker indicating the student’s progress.
If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. McDowell-Ray at 816.221.2600 ext 201. We look forward to improving your student’s enrichment experience next year!
Thank you!
