High Potential Learners are identified so that appropriate learning experiences can be designed to develop an optimal match between learners’ strengths and abilities. This process begins with observing student characteristics and behaviors. High potential consists of an interaction of three basic clusters of human traits: (1) high intellectual ability, (2) high creativity ability, and (3) high task commitment (Renzulli).

A student must meet both of the following:
- Score above grade level on benchmark reading assessments
- Mastery of 90% of ELA and Math standards
A student must also meet one of the following:
- At least 85% NWEA scores in Reading and 85% in Math
- Score Advanced/Proficient on the MAP in Reading and Math

*Parental Consent: All students qualifying for Crossroads Enrichment Program will require written consent from their parents or guardians before participating in enrichment education services.

- The progress of each student receiving enrichment education services will be reviewed by both the Enrichment Coordinator and classroom teachers. Any student who receives enrichment education will continue through the year, provided the student demonstrates satisfactory performance in the program, as well as continuing to master standards and perform above grade level in the regular classroom.
- If a student fails to maintain mastery of standards within the classroom, he/she will take a leave of absence from the enrichment program for a period of time until mastery is reached. This will be decided by the classroom teacher, enrichment teacher, and administration.
- If a student fails to maintain satisfactory performance in the enrichment program, he/she will be put on a probationary period, during which the student will attempt to achieve satisfactory performance status. The length of this probationary period will be determined by the enrichment teacher, classroom teacher, and administration.
- If a student fails to demonstrate satisfactory performance in the enrichment program after the conclusion of the probationary period, a final review will be provided prior to discontinuing enrichment services for the student.

- Students transferring into Crossroads Charter Schools will need to meet the established eligibility requirements for the enrichment program.
