Goal 15: Life on Land

Cassie, Jes and Lily wanted to find a way for all Junior School students to connect with and take care of the Earth: "My friends and I are passionate about the earth and all life on it, and we really want to share this with the whole Junior School community, so we decided to create a day where the students of the Junior School will do an activity to raise awareness about the earth. This day will take place on April 22d (Earth day). Activities will include rock painting for the younger grades and an ivy pull for grades 4-7. We hope that everyone will enjoy this experience and learn something new!" Check out their assembly video below.

Flora, Maggie and Taryn wanted to encourage politicians to protect important animal habitats. They sent the following email to Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, and you can too! Just visit Government of Canada website.

"Dear, Mr. Trudeau and team,

Greetings,

My name is [ Insert Name Here ]

I hope you are finding yourself well in these difficult times.

As you may be aware of, there are multiple hard things happening around the globe, majorly impacting the lives of both life on land and below water. We would like to bring awareness, as climate change continues to wreak havoc on our environment, it is our job to protect the animals that are suffering from our mistakes.

A difference is something many people want, yet no one will change. Just think of all the animals; sea otters, pandas, elephants and thousands more.

We are the only ones that can save them, and there are people doing so much, and people doing so little. The Sierra club is conserving areas with protected trees, so we took inspiration from this and wanted to do something similar.

Even the smallest act can make a big difference.

Sincerely, [ insert name ]
