BANG!...BANG!...BANG!
A pounding drum
With a beat that will not cease
A throb behind my tired eyes
Like a storm that brews in a silent sky
Thunder snapping, hearing the echo for miles
Slowly fading away but never gone away
A pulse that pulls me from the crowd
Isolated, yet the sounds follow
Waiting for a moment of peace
With everything Bang!
The silence becomes louder
Just wait it out,
Like a sailor waiting for a storm to subside
Bang!...Bang!...Bang!
It was silent yet loud at the same time
The never ending throbbing
I find myself sobbing…
Waiting for the agony to end
Poetry was never something that I was good at, it was very hard for me to be creative and descriptive while writing something unique. I was having such a hard time trying to write something that wasn’t a cliche however I wasn’t getting very far. So instead I shifted towards something that was familiar to me. It was helpful for me to start writing random sentences describing my headaches and then later on describing them in more detail and using more literary devices. I suffer from migraines so I decided to write about them. I figured out it would be the easiest thing for me to describe and provide imagery for because the pain and sensations are so familiar to me. I am certain that other people who suffer from migraines will relate to what I am writing.
