In this course, you will explore a variety of drawing methods and media at your own level through several different drawing units. You will gain practice in drawing on a grid, gesture drawing, contour line drawing, and blocking-in. Media may include graphite, charcoal, chalk, oil pastels, color pencils, ink, as well as other materials used to explore creative approaches to drawing. You will write artist statements and reflections to review your practice.
Materials needed: sketchbook, pencil

You will spend more time planning and developing your artwork with methods and materials corresponding to the Drawing I class. While you perfect your application of various drawing media, additional challenges could include working on a larger scale, creating art based on a specific theme, or selecting your own subject matter. You will continue to reflect on your practice through various writing prompts.
Materials needed: sketchbook, pencil
