Craven County Art Teachers work together to provide students multiple opportunities to have their work on display in public spaces. Receptions are held to celebrate students whose art is selected for these exhibitions.
This district-wide art exhibition allows students the opportunity to have their artwork on display in a public space. Each school in Craven County contributes one frame featuring student artwork from their school. A reception is hosted by the library to celebrate these students.
Artwork by K-12 students from every school in Craven County adorns the halls of the Craven County Board of Education. Each Fall and Spring, artwork is rotated out and a reception is held to honor featured students. Artwork selected remains on display for six months until the next rotation.Â
Duffy Gallery
Each spring, the Duffy Gallery at the NC History Center in downtown New Bern provides students the opportunity to have their work displayed in a real art gallery. A reception is hosted by the gallery to celebrate artwork by K-12 students from across Craven County.
Bank of the Arts
Each May, NBHS works with the Craven Arts Council to display artwork from Advanced and Proficient Visual Arts classes. The Director's Gallery at the Bank of the Arts in downtown New Bern is reserved to feature an NBHS-only exhibition. A reception is held in conjunction with the May ArtWalk to celebrate the work these upper level art students have produced.
