The Theme
The Theme
Our theme for this year's festival is ART IN MOTION.
How can movement be influenced by an artist?
What would happen if a painting came to life?
How can something still communicate an idea or tell a story?
This project aims to inspire you to connect with professional dancers, your peers, teachers and friends as you explore how dance can be influenced by another art form. Why not collaborate within your school to make this a cross-curricular project? We encourage you to consider all the ways an artist can influence a dance performance.
STAGE 1: Learn the dance workshop choreography and get inspired
Our dance practitioners are currently working hard recording workshops at Pineapple Dance Studios. These will appear below as each is complete. There will be 8 workshops in total, all of which will be available before the Easter holidays. There will be 4 advanced and 4 intermediate to cater for all abilities and age groups. You can take part in as many of these workshops as you wish. We encourage you to make the most of this expert resource and include as much or as little of the choreography as you wish.

STAGE 2: Create your own choreography
Now that you have been inspired by the Dance Artists, it is YOUR turn to get creative!
Each school will now work to create their own dance inspired by the theme of ART IN MOTION. You can use any of the choreography you have learned in the workshops, or you may wish to create your own. To discover wha to do next, go to 'The Next Steps.'
