TECHNICAL TIPS FOR FILMING YOUR PERFORMANCE
Make sure you have enough space for all dancers to be filmed.
Hold your first and last pose for a few seconds before you start dancing and after you finish - this will make it easier for you to professionally crop your video.
Try to film yourself in a space with lots of natural light or bright indoor lighting. Judges need to see you clearly. Avoid any "back-lighting" where possible as this will create a silhouette. Ensure your face/s are brightly lit. Unless you have chosen a silhouette as a creative direction.
Avoid any unnecessary clutter in the background where possible
Videos should be filmed in landscape mode, not portrait. This will help to ensure you capture all your moves without cropping out body parts.
COSTUMES
Wear school appropriate and culturally sensitive clothing (no midriff tops or very short skirts and short shorts).
EDITING TOOLS
An easy to use video editing software is iMovie on an Apple Mac computer. If you, your family or friends do not have access to a computer you could try and download some editing applications onto your phone. You can also trim and crop your video using a mobile phone.
