I have explored the theme, watched the workshops and created my dance... what do I do next?
STAGE 3: Perform and record your work
We hope you have had fun experimenting with this years theme and have enhanced skills through the exploration of the workshops. After checking the time restrictions and the judging criteria you are now ready to film your work. All of our focus is on the choreography and the performance this year so it is entirely up to you how you would like to record your work.
STAGE 4: Submitting your entry
Once your work had been recorded, you will need to submit your video via the google form below. Please try to submit all entries into one form. However, if this is not possible you may put your entries into more than one as long as you are only submitting one dance per category, per age group.
Your deadline for video submission is Friday 27th May 2022
The winning Dance Choreography will be selected by our panel of judges for this year.
FAQs
Will this year be hosted at Cranleigh or will it be digital?
Due to the current guidance in Abu Dhabi and in order to keep our students safe, this years BSME event will be digital. This means entries will be submitted as videos. These videos will then be judged by professional dancers who work with Pineapple Dance Studios in London.
Can dancers take part in more than one category?
Yes, a dancer can take part in more than one category as long as they are in the correct age group. For example, a dancer may be a soloist and involved in the group dance.
Will there be a clear timeline for this event?
Yes, please see timeline above.
What are the rules and regulations around social distancing within the choreography?
As we see restrictions starting to ease, we are in a situation in which, depending on where we live, our students are able to do different things. Please follow your schools and the government guidelines when choreographing your routines. We want our students to be able to do all they can and enjoy the process of this competition. We do not want to get caught up on the varying rules, instead we want to spend our time and energy producing all we can under the circumstances to ensure we provide our students with the opportunities to explore their passion.
