Professional development in NGSS and newly adopted and revised Arizona State Standards will be at the forefront of our next steps in professional learning. Understanding and implementing these standards will allow us to deliver strong science instruction which is the foundation of all our units.

As we continue to move forward, it is so important for us to document and archive where we've been. This will allow us to push to new innovative ideas. The key is to never stop growing and learning.

Innovation is Happening
In 2018, Gowan Science Academy partnered with Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Education major students were able to virtually tutor our students in English Language standards. This received great feedback and the program will be expanded in the new year to include English language arts and mathematics tutoring.
