Route 8 Rivalry Ends in Oiler Shutout

On October 17, 2025, Oil City High School faced longtime rival Franklin High School in the annual Route 8 Rivalry. The Oilers dominated Region 6 play with a 47–0 shutout, retaining the Route 8 Rivalry Trophy. Seniors Steven Heise and Cole Findlay led the charge, combining for 377 yards of offense and six total touchdowns. Energized by a fired-up home crowd, Oil City controlled the game from start to finish.
