See You at the Pole 2023
Written by Isabella Whitling
On Wednesday, September 28, 2023, Cranberry staff, students, and locals, were greeted with a beautiful morning to gather around the flagpole at 7:10 a.m. in front of the main entrance to the high school, on national See You at the Pole day.
Members of the Ignite Club (a religious, Christian club that Cranberry offers to all students) along with staff member and advisor, Trisha Dixon, had a lyric sheet prepared for songs called “Good Good Father” by Chris Tomlin, and “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake. Prayers were also said for our community, school, students, staff, as well as the high school guidance counselor, Andy Godinich, who is currently battling cancer.
Every year See you at the Pole is something the Ignite club members feel great joy putting on. Speaking, singing, and worshiping in front of friends, teachers, and the community is exciting for the members.
Addi Karns, an immensely involved member of the club, says “it helps us show our faith and brings people together.”
Ignite club members started preparing the week before by hanging signs and posters around the school and handing out bracelets to all students.
Mrs. Matthews, 8th and 10th grade English teacher, explained why she likes See You at the Pole.
“Praying with everyone is wonderful and feels unified. I love the worship music we do as well.”
Matthews also spoke on the significance of See You at the Pole, and stated, “God answers prayers, so if we are asking, we will receive.”
See You at the Pole day is celebrated amongst all the schools, nationwide, that participate in this amazing event. This is one day for all of the religious clubs at schools to embrace their students, staff, and community.
