Cranberry's seventh grade team, "READ, White, and Blue" bested 11 teams to win the Interscholastic Reading Festival's Junior High Division at Brookville Area High School on Nov. 2nd.  They were responsible for reading 24 books and answering questions for each book that were posed orally. Each team member was awarded $25 and a trophy. Cranberry's Eighth Grade Team, "Over-Booked" earned just one point less than the seventh grade champions, but was awarded third place honors, a medal, and $10 each,  when tie-breaking criteria had to be applied.

Cranberry prepared 64 students and 6 teams for this event.  Although we did not place in the spirit competition, it wasn't for lack of trying. The names of the other Cranberry teams competing in the 27 team festival were:

Seniors:  The Book Bandits and The Page Police

Juniors:  The Apostropheets

Sophomores:  Reading Beasts and Beauties

Freshmen:  The Voracious Readers
