On September 21st, Cranberry High School had an outdoor picnic in front of the school during all lunches. The event was planned by the kitchen staff. When asked, Mrs. Daugherty, our Food Service Director, thought that the picnic went great. On the menu was burgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, baked beans, and ice cream.

In addition to the cafeteria ladies making and serving the lunch, Mr. Smith made burgers and Mr. Karg, the school’s business manager, made the hot dogs. Ellie K., a senior, said  “I love when we have outside picnics because it changes things up and we get fresh air and it is so fun to see Mr. Smith cooking food and manning the grill”.

Mr. Smith stated that he loves grilling and he grills a lot during the summer at his restaurant Fat Dogs. Along with this statement, Mr. Smith said how his favorite part was how everyone said ‘thank you’ when he handed them the burgers.

Mr. Smith also wanted to say thank you to the kitchen staff and the maintenance staff for setting up everything and preparing the food for the students.

Towards the end of B lunch, there was some extra excitement as well! Sophomore, Logan J., gave a musical performance asking fellow sophomore, Ellie A, to homecoming! Logan played and sang along to “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift (Ellie's favorite artist) with a poster and roses!
