No Shortage of Talent at Cranberry!

In the beginning of January, Junior High Student Council decided to host a virtual talent show competition to encourage all Cranberry students to demonstrate their unique talents and interests.

Students were instructed to send in videos of themselves showing off their talents such as singing, acting, storytelling, dancing, doing gymnastics, performing magic, reading slam poetry, performing stand up comedy, exhibiting visual art, making or creating something, or even doing yoga poses.

In each specific category, first place winners would receive a twenty dollar gift card, second place would earn a fifteen dollar gift card, and third place would receive a ten dollar gift card. The winner of the group submission would receive fifty dollars to split among members.

Students were encouraged to try out for as many categories as desired, but it was also stressed that all acts, especially group or community ones, had to follow the current health guidelines set in place, such as a ten person limit when multiple people were involved in addition to wearing masks.

The categories students were allowed to partake in included Best Picture/Item/Artwork Created, Best Tik Tok, Best Baking/Cooking, Best Sports Talent, Best Performing Talent, and Best Group Performance.

Taking first place in both the baking and art category, Cranberry junior Hannah Niederriter received $40 for her entries!

Coming in at third place in the performing talent category was Mr. Perry with his fantastic magic act, which earned him $10.

Taking second overall was Alex Guth, a senior, with his stellar guitar solo, winning himself $15!

Last, but certainly not least, senior Sam Black received first place overall. Black also managed to earn first in the performing talent category, which resulted in a total of $50 for his jaw dropping guitar and vocalist solo.

The virtual talent show was a blast this year, and it is clear that there is no shortage of talent here at Cranberry Highschool. Remember to stay #berrytalented!
