NitroBall Tournament Time

Cranberry is kicking off the new year with a sports event unlike any other: a NitroBall tournament!

NitroBall is a game similar to volleyball that is very easy and entertaining to play alongside friends and family. While playing NitroBall, players pass, strike, or hit a ball over a low net with the intent of bouncing the ball on the ground in a location where the opposing team cannot return it.

Mr. Bean, the instructor in charge of the tournament, originally wanted to start this competition in order to “give everybody a chance to feel normal again after going through COVID-19.”

The students participating in this tournament competed over the course of 4 weeks during Cranberry’s study period, and the winner was determined through double-elimination.

“I joined because I thought it would be pretty cool and fun to do,” Ashton Weaver, junior and member of team Apt. 11, stated.

After all the rounds of the competition concluded, the team that finished on top was The Shiesties, consisting of Preston Forrest, Kenny Lavrich, Sylas Fox, and Ethan Merryman.
