Homecoming is here again, this time at Cranberry Junior-Senior High School. We’ve had a fantastic 4 years partnering with Oil City High School, and we are preparing for another.

Heather Motter, Student Council advisor, and others have been hard at work since late August, on our “astronomical” Starry Night themed dance. On September 23, our students will gather at Cranberry for another amazing night to remember.

We have yet another admirable court, consisting of Cranberry seniors Reyna Watson, Justin Oliver, Ayanna Ferringer, Ethan Merryman, Riley Peterson, Cayden Baker, Maria Galleta, Henry Milford, Jordan Montgomery, Kevin Pearsall, Audrey Frazier and Seth Deloe.

They were nominated by their fellow seniors. Our king and queen, Seth Deloe and Maria Galetta, were announced at the competitive homecoming football game on Friday night, against the Northwestern Wildcats. We had a chance to talk to some of the ladies on the court and see how it feels to be in their position.

“We’re excited for activities and to spend time with our classmates,” said Ferringer, Frazier and Montgomery.

We also had a chance to speak with Motter about the meticulous planning that went into the event.

“Homecoming is a large dance that requires many helping hands contributing lots of time and effort.”

The dance was successfully pulled off, and many students enjoyed the dip into Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”.
