Cranberry’s Homestaying Spirit Week
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cranberry will not have a Homecoming dance. However, students can still experience other Homecoming traditions through the Homestaying week.
Organized by Journalism and Student Council, Homestaying will include the spirit aspects of homecoming as well as new student activities.
Homestaying Spirit Week will commence on Thursday,September 24, when students will be introduced to the homestaying court, and the crowning will take place on the following Thursday.
The themed spirit days will showcase all fall sports, beginning with wearing blue and white on Friday to support Football and Marching Band members. On Monday, September 28, students can wear Cranberry clothing to recognize the Volleyball team. Tuesday is Black Out day for the Soccer teams. In support of the Golf teams, hats and visors are encouraged on Wednesday. Finally, on Thursday, wearing sneakers will pay tribute to the Cross Country teams.

In addition to the usual festivities, Homestaying will include a mask decorating contest. Taking place from Monday, September 28 to Thursday, October 1, the contest will vote on two winners per grade, each of the four days. Please check the Cranberry Chronicles website, as well as hallway advertisements, for further information regarding the contest.
Mrs. Motter, 12th grade English teacher and head of Student Council wonderfully stated what Homestaying means for students this year: “This is a perfect opportunity for us to prove that Cranberry spirit is stronger than ever. Every day is a great day to be a Berry!”
