Cranberry Students Inducted into NTHS

On the evening of February 26th, 2019, several Cranberry students that attend the Venango Technology Center (also known as Vo-Tech) were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). These students include Haley Brand, Andrew Jordan, Keely Littlefield, and Austin Seigworth.

In order to apply for the National Technical Honor Society, students must have an A or B grade average, miss less than 6 days per school year, and fill out an application with questions pertaining to organizations and clubs the individual is involved with. This application also includes a teacher evaluation of the student’s behavior in class.

After speaking to both Haley, a member of the auto technology department, and Austin, a member of the welding technology department, it was clear that this induction was a relief and blessing. By being a member of NTHS, students earn not only a new job resume listing, but also a sense of accomplishment.

“When I was accepted to the National Technical Honor Society, I felt honored that the committee felt I deserved to be chosen,” stated Seigworth.

As far as advice for future attendees of Vo-Tech goes, both Haley and Austin made it a point to stress the importance of grades. They also emphasized the significance of seizing new opportunities and going above and beyond the expectations of those around you and yourself.

As said by Austin Seigworth, “Always do your best and be looking for ways to exceed expectations. Strive for perfect attendance just like you would do at a job.”
