On May 1st, 2018, Mr. O’Brien’s 8th grade Science classes did an aerodynamics unit on Newton’s Third Law of Inertia on aircraft. They did a series of three ‘challenges/tests’: timed flight, a distance flight, and a cargo capacity flight. The goal was to understand the forces behind what creates lift and drag and the forces that oppose them such as weight and thrust. Overall, it seemed that students had a great experience.
