From Berry to Behrend

From a small-town field to a college roster, Jadyn Shumaker has officially committed to continue her career in softball at Penn State Behrend.
“It is such an honor to be able to become a part of something so big coming from a small town,” Shumaker commented.
Shumaker has been playing softball for a total of 11 years, playing on not only Cranberry’s school team, but two travel softball teams as well.
Throughout her high school career, she contributed to Cranberry’s success, helping the team secure three District 9 Championships during her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons.
Primarily a catcher, Shumaker also occasionally plays in the outfield and hopes to continue to develop her skills in both positions during her time at Penn State Behrend, using what she learned from her years at Cranberry: discipline, patience, dedication, and accountability.
Looking ahead, she plans to become a nurse, eventually settling as a traveling pediatric nurse.
