How do I know if my child is ready for Kindergarten?
As a parent/guardian, this is an important question to consider. Although the state cutoff for kindergarten is turning 5 years old before August 1st, this doesn't necessarily mean every child is ready by that date. Consider this quote, 'children are like popcorn...they don't all 'pop' at the same time'. Young children can mature at all different rates.
Keeping this in mind, below are general 'look-fors' to review, consider, and practice to prepare for being kindergarten ready. Even most children who ARE kindergarten ready do not display all of these all the time.
