Applied Design combines aesthetics, design, client needs, and finding practical solutions to problems. It is an area in which design and aesthetics come together to create objects and ideas that are functional and useful. During these applied design installations, scholars engage in all levels of the design process: understanding the client need, brainstorming and concept development, creation and actualization, prototyping, production, and completion of the final installation.
