Trying to harm or end one’s life or making plans to do so
Severe, out-of-control, risk-taking behavior that causes harm to self or others
Intense worries or fears that get in the way of daily activities
Drastic changes in mood, behavior, personality or sleeping habits
Significant weight loss or gain
Seeing, hearing or believing things that aren’t real
Excessive use of alcohol or drugs
Extreme difficulty concentrating or staying still

Below are some questions to ask yourself to determine if counseling could be helpful for you.
Have I struggled to be myself lately?
Are daily activities harder to complete than normal?
Have I lost interest in things I used to love?
Is my worry increasing?
Do I have a habit that I keep a secret from others?
Do I experience feelings of worthlessness?
Has my family or friends been saying they are worried about me?
Am I having a hard time bouncing back from something?
Do I feel like I am in danger?

Reach out to your school counselor
Schedule an appointment with your assigned counselor at school to get additional information about counseling supports within the school. The counselors are there to listen, support and encourage.
Connect with support outside of the school building
Resources listed on the 24/7 Supports page offer a variety of websites to provide additional information. Each resource has a hotline that you are able to call or text to receive supports whenever you are needing it.
Talk to your parents or guardians
Let them know what you have been experiencing recently. It can feel scary to have this conversation, however having support and understanding at home can help you get through it.
