What is the Falcon Cheer Squad?
We are a co-ed team that performs sideline at football, basketball, pep rallies and other events.
We also attend CPS and Illinois high school competitive cheer competitions.
What is a “co-ed” team?
Historically, this term means a team of boys and girls. At Prosser, this means all gender expressions are welcomed to tryout for our team.
What’s the difference between “sideline” and “competitive” cheer?
Sideline cheer is what is most well-known about cheerleading. This is where athletes cheer, dance and pump up the crowd during events. We use signs, megaphones and pompoms. Our sideline athletes train throughout the football and basketball seasons.
Competitive cheer is the lesser known side of cheerleading. Competitive cheerleaders are competitive athletes. We train stunting, tumbling, dance, cheers and compete against other schools around the state of Illinois.
Both teams train strength and conditioning throughout the school year.
What is the Falcon Cheer Squad style of cheer?
We love to showcase both the HBCU style of “stomp and shake” and NCA/UCA cheers
Team members are always welcome to suggest new or different styles of cheer for the team!
Each school year, we accept up to 4 students onto our blue team. Their main priority is training and learning cheers during the season to join the team fully when they are ready.
For athletes who nearly have the skills, but need more training.
Blue team attends all practices.
They do not cheer in uniform on the basketball sideline, they have improved their skills.
They are expected to attend games to support with hyping the crowd, guiding the mascot
They will have matching team gear to wear at games
Athletes who are ready to be on the team based on tryouts.
