Hello Pre-K Families,

We will be displaying our Independent Investigations poster to present for our Gifted Showcase tomorrow. To help coordinate as we will have our PM Students in school, we encourage AM families to come from 2pm-3pm. We encourage PM families to come from 3pm-4pm. If you are coming during 2pm-3pm, please let us know .

Here is the Amazon Wishlist for our Celebration that we will are sharing with Kindergarten: Pre-K/Kinder Wish List

See invitation and RSVP Link below. If you would like to help with SET-UP the day before (Monday June 1) please let us know. The capacity that we are setting up for only allows 4 guest per family, and we can only give out two more extra tickets for a total of 6. We need all families to fill out the form to be able to give out tickets.

Pre-K Applications come out May 22.
- You do not need to reapply for Orozco is you are returning next year.
- You do need to let us know if you accept and offer somewhere else, so that we can remove student from our roster and help with the transfer.
Pre-K will be performing at the Spring Concert on May 29th starting at 9am for morning class and 1pm for afternoon class. Please be on the lookout for an email soon regarding more information. By student choice we are singing GOLDEN.

Hola familias de preescolar:

Mañana presentaremos nuestro póster de Investigaciones Independientes en nuestra Muestra de Talentos. Para facilitar la coordinación, ya que nuestros alumnos del turno de la tarde estarán en la escuela, les pedimos a las familias de los alumnos del turno de la mañana que vengan de 2:00 p. m. a 3:00 p. m. y a las familias del turno de la tarde que vengan de 3:00 p. m. a 4:00 p. m. Si van a venir entre las 2:00 p. m. y las 3:00 p. m., por favor avísennos.

Consulta la invitación y el enlace para confirmar tu asistencia a continuación. Si desea ayudar con el MONTAJE el día anterior (lunes 1 de junio), por favor háganoslo saber.

Resultados de Pre-K salen May 22.
- No es necesario aplicar para Orozco si vas a regresar el año que viene.
- Dejemos saber si aceptaron una oferta en otro lugar para ayudar con el transfer.
Los alumnos de preescolar se presentarán en el Concierto de Primavera el 29 de mayo a las 9:00 a. m. para la clase de la mañana y a la 1:00 p. m. para la clase de la tarde. Estén atentos a un correo electrónico que pronto recibirán con más información. Por elección de los alumnos, cantaremos GOLDEN.

As the weather gets nicer, we will be going outside more. Please dress according to the weather.
If your child is showing any symptoms of illness, please keep them home. This helps protects other students and staff, as well as their families.
Monday-Thursday students wear uniform. Friday students can bring in one toy to share and can dress out of uniform.
For Late Pick-Ups: Please let us know if you are running late, or if there are any emergencies, or give the office a call. All Pre-K teachers clock out at 3pm, and Mrs.Carbajal has to attend to other students at our school. Mrs.Agnew who works with Pre-K, also had other duties after 3pm.

Para recoger a sus hijos tarde: Por favor, avísenos si llega tarde, tiene alguna emergencia o llame a la oficina. Todos los maestros de preescolar salen a las 3 p. m., y la Sra. Carbajal tiene que atender a otros estudiantes de nuestra escuela. La Sra. Agnew, quien trabaja con preescolar, también tenía otras tareas después de las 3 p. m.

All lost and found items where donated and will be merged with the rest of the school lost and found.

Our Pilsen neighborhood has many wonderful organizations that support families in different ways — from wellness programs and family events to free food and benefit assistance. Please feel free to save or share these with friends, neighbors, or anyone who may find them helpful.

Pilsen Food Pantry – 2124 S Ashland Ave. Free groceries, household items, and help connecting to community programs.
- (If you are able and interested in donating to Pilsen Food Pantry, they have wishlists on their website that you directly buy goods off of and have shipped to them. If able and interested in donating to any food pantry or non-profit that is providing care and resources, I encourage you to call them directly and ask what goods they may need the most).
- Pilsen Wellness Center – 2319 S Damen Ave. Wellness pantry, counseling, and family support services.
- St. Pius V Parish Pantry – 1919 S Ashland Ave. Weekly food distribution for local families.
- Greater Chicago Food Depository – Help applying for or renewing SNAP (Link) benefits.
- Call 2-1-1 – Free 24-hour helpline that connects families to food, housing, and community supports.
- The Diaper Bank of Chicago - This is the only non-profit in the city dedicated to diaper need and can be contacted via their website.
