Our World
In this unit, children will investigate the world around them. They will learn about people, places, and things they can find at their schools and in their neighborhood. They will gain an understanding of how they are part of their many communities, including their school, neighborhood, city, state, country, and world and learn about the different ways people move around within and between those communities. Finally, children will explore ways they can take care of the world around them.

Force and Motion
Dear Parents,
We will begin a Science unit on Force and Motion. We will learn all about how things
move.
Pushes and Pulls: Students will be able to identify that a force is a push or a pull that can start, stop, or change the shape of an object.
Speed and Direction: Students will demonstrate that the strength of a force (push/pull) affects an object's speed, while the angle affects its direction.
Gravity: Students will explain that gravity is a force that pulls objects down toward the Earth.
Magnets: Students will explore magnetic forces, identifying materials that are attracted to magnets and understanding that magnets can exert force without touching objects.
Simple Machines: Students will investigate how tools like wheels, levers, and inclined planes make work easier.
Inquiry Skills: Students will predict, observe, and communicate how different forces change the motion of objects.
We are looking forward to exploring these concepts through fun, hands-on activities!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Attached is a reference list of kindergarten sight words for your child to continue practicing during Quarter 2. These words will help build a strong foundation as we prepare for Quarter 3 phonics in 1st grade. Please note that this list is a general guide and may be adjusted as needed to best support the needs of our students.
Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning!
Estimados padres/tutores:
