Hi! I'm Gabrielle Benoit, a proud teacher for Chicago Public Schools. I serve the Bronzeville community, working as a 9th & 10th grade special education teacher. I teach US History and English in the small group support settings. My goal as a teacher is to provide all students access to high quality content at their best-fit level because all students can learn, it's just our job as a teacher to find ways to unlock it!
Growing up, my favorite classes in high school were Social Studies and Model UN. I thrived when learning about the past, the present, and the possibility for a better world. I was also a life long Girl Scout. All of this led me to my inevitable fate of becoming a history teacher. I believe in a balance of empowerment and creating positive experiences with education.
Additionally, I have found great value in globalizing the education process and expanding both the worldview of myself and my students. This website was crafted under the guidance and expertise of the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms fellowship to connect my fellow educators with resources and capacity-building for creating globalized schools.
