Learning Language Arts Routine

Students are expected to engage in 30+ minutes of Language Arts practice per day for homework. This can be done with physical books and using th following online resources.

• Achieve3000 (on Clever) - This program offers non-fiction articles that are customized to your child's reading ability. The better they perform, the more complex the activities become - which is good! I will assign 5 articles per week which your child may work on daily or all at once. Much of our Science and Social Studies will be covered using Achieve3000.

Optional:

The following programs are available for your child to use on a voluntary basis or if you would like them to have additional online learning time:

• EPIC! - This is a platform which allows students to read for enjoyment and gives them the option of having the stories read to them. This is great for Family Time and younger family members can be encourages to join in! If I have your email address, you will have received an invitation and instructions.

• Freckle (on Clever)

• Wonderopolis - This resource is for non-fiction reading and helps answer many of life's questions in a kid'friendly way. Try referring your child here when they come to you with a question, the answer is more valuable if they can find it themselves!
