Hey there!
My name is Elaina Rosa and I love learning.
Through past work, I've earned the titles of film producer and free-lance photographer, computer technician, animal rehabilitator, and small business owner. My own mother dubbed me a "lifelong student" and I could not agree more. In teaching, I hope to impart that same passion for learning in my own students.
As an educator, I've taught children from grades K-7 and it's been the most rewarding experience. One of my driving visions is for all students to be prepared to compete in a technology-driven global economy. In my classroom, we build websites, produce and record newscasts, work with virtual and augmented reality and learn the basics of computer coding.
At our school, I serve on our Instructional Leadership Team, I've also acted at the lead teacher in a collaboration with the Museum of Science and Industry called the Science Leadership Initiative, and I am a member of CPS's CS4ALL (computer science) PLT.
There is much more to share, but I hope for the opportunity to do that in person as we get to know each other through the year.
Recent years' work with my students has earned me the 2019 title of Chicago Public Schools' Innovator of the Year and that never could have happened without the dedication of the learners under my charge and the support of their families and our school. Thank you all!
