Gunnery Sergeant 

•  The Cadet Gunnery Sergeant is 2nd senior NCO; they will act as the liaison between the unit and unit supply, as well as acting in a training management function at the unit level. This billet is primarily one of advisor to the Cadet First Sergeant on all matters pertaining to the Unit. As the 2nd senior NCO, the Cadet Unit First Sergeant is particularly concerned with discipline and morale of the unit. The Cadet Gunnery Sergeant should anticipate problems and keep the Unit leaders informed on all situations. The Cadet Gunnery Sergeant and the First Sergeant must work together to the best meet the need of the cadets assigned to the unit. Additionally, the cadet Gunnery Sergeant is responsible for the following:

Supervisory, administrative and managerial functions. 

Inspections and correction of discrepancies. 

Personnel guidance for cadets (mentorship program). 

Counseling for cadets (must have standardized format for all disciplinary issues). 

Serves as advisor to the Commander, Executive Officer, First Sergeant and Class Leaders.
