1st Sergeant

•  Senior NCO in a cadet unit. This billet is primarily one of advisor to the Cadet Unit Commander on all matters pertaining to the Unit. As the senior NCO, the Cadet Unit First Sergeant is particularly concerned with discipline and morale of the unit. A First Sergeant should anticipate problems and keep the Unit Commander and the Unit First Sergeant must work together to the best to meet the need of the cadets assigned to the unit. Additionally, the cadet First Sergeant is responsible for the following:

Supervisory,administrative and managerial functions. 

Inspections and correction of discrepancies. 

Personnel guidance for cadets(mentorship program). 

Counseling for cadets(must have standardized format for all disciplinary issues). 

Serves as advisor to the Unit Commander, Unit Executive Officer, Unit Gunnery Sergeant and Class Leaders.
