Step-by-Step Guide

Joining the cohort (all steps must be complete!):

Note: these steps are accurate as of February 2026 but are subject to change; if you have any questions you can reach out to Akkady Tchaba at atchaba@neiu.edu.

1. Create your NEIU Application Portal account.

2. Complete your application:

   1. Select Graduate Level

   2. Select Certificate/Licensure/Endorsement

   3. Select Computer Science 5-12 Endorsement

   4. Term: Fall 2026

3. On the Additional Information tab: at the bottom of the page you will be asked if you have an application fee waiver code. Select Yes and enter MSCSINFO.

4. Review tab: if any information is missing, there will be a link taking you to the section here. Otherwise, click Submit and Confirm.

5. An application homepage will be created. It will list the status of required documents, which will include official transcripts and a copy of your PEL. Please have an electronic copy of your bachelor's transcript be sent to Northeastern. Most schools use electronic delivery and we should receive it the same day. Then upload a PDF of your PEL from your ELIS account.

Once everything is completed, your admission will be processed within a few days.

Being a part of the cohort

1. You will be responsible for paying for the course on the deadlines determined by the university.

2. Finish the course successfully (with a 'C' grade or above)

3. Once the course is completed, share the requested documents that we ask for. (Transcript, evidence of tuition payment, etc. —The Office of Computer Science will send out an email at the end of every semester.)

4. CPS covers 80% of the tuition. You are not required to pay the tuition upfront, then get reimbursed. You only pay the 20% you are responsible for.
