As of summer 2024, all CS endorsement coursework at NEIU and UIUC is eligible for lane credit because it is at the graduate level. To get lane credit for those courses, you just need to apply for the lane credit, as outlined below.
Some undergraduate courses are also eligible for lane credit. If you have taken an undergraduate course in the past at NEIU / ISU that was part of the CS endorsement program, we can grant lane credit retroactively for those pre-approved courses. The advice below applies to those historical undergraduate courses.
After you complete a course eligible for Lane Credit, you will receive a notice that you have been enrolled in a corresponding Learning Hub course.
For a course to count towards a lane change, it must be listed in the Learning Hub, and marked Complete.
For a course to be marked complete, you must complete the Course Evaluation, which can be found at the My Learning page by clicking Launch Eval.
The lane adjustment application can be found here. It is current as of Summer 2024, but you may want to check HR4U in the future in case things change.
You will need to submit proof of successful course completion, such as an official transcript.
Note: for pre-approved courses, you don’t have to submit transcripts like it says on the form: your Learning Hub enrollment + evaluation will suffice. (When you apply for a lane change, make sure your Learning Hub courses are complete.)
Other note: it will greatly help the lane specialist reviewing your application if you include the Learning Hub class code in the class title, e.g. “LH XXXXX: Programming I” where XXXXX is the LH class code for that class. Here is an example.
Someone from Talent will review the application. In the case of an undergraduate course lane credit, they will double-check that the course is complete in the Learning Hub. If you don’t complete the evaluation, it won’t show up as complete.
