Scratch Encore | June 30 - August 21

Research-based, culturally relevant coding in Scratch.

Scratch Encore is an intermediate programming curriculum based on research from the University of Chicago and developed in consultation with CPS teachers.

Engage your students in a wide array of programming tasks that are engaging and creative!

This PD is designed for Middle School teachers, and runs in two sessions:

New Teachers | June 30 - August 21
Returning Teachers | July 14 - August 21

Code.org | July 8

Are you new to coding?

This one day workshop is a great way to learn about what's possible for you and your students in computer science! No experience necessary.

Code.org has created lessons that are available offline and online for you to be able to help your students learn computational skills at their own pace. Learn about how to integrate computer science into your classroom, and why they matter in the first place!

This virtual PD runs July 8 from 9am - 12pm.

This PD is designed for K-5 teachers looking to take their first steps towards integrating computer science in their classroom.

Earsketch | July 27 - 31

Make music by coding in Python.

Teach your middle school students Python programming with Earsketch, an online software tool that allows students access to over 4,000 different musical beats that they can combine to create their own songs.

Learn about the software and the curriculum, build your understanding, and work together with other educators to create a lesson you can take back to your students!

This virtual PD runs July 27 - 31 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am - 12pm.

On Tuesday and Thursday office hours will be held.

This PD is designed for Middle School teachers.
