Welcome to 7th Grade Writing.  Assignments and announcements will be communicated through Google Classroom.  

We will use paper notebooks so please make sure you have three designated for Writing class.  The notebooks are ongoing assignments and we will start using them right away!  They will become a Writing resource dictionary for your use the rest of the school year and in 8th grade.  

At the same time, student's will use their Chrome Books daily. It is essential that the computers are charged daily and are ready to use each day.  Classrooms will not have spare computers for student use and student's will not be able to charge their computers in class. 

Reading and writing are linked together.  Therefore, we will read many texts and analyze their messages.  Next, we will create a multi-step formatted written response that will answer a prompt which highlights the text's topic.  At the same time, we will learn new vocabulary and literary devices.  

Grammar will be integrated into our vocabulary and writing.
