We put a great deal of effort into making our classrooms (whether they are virtual or brick & mortar) a safe space for discussion & debate. Our goal is to be able to act as facilitators of students' intellectual explorations, guiding them toward mastery. To do so, we will model and demonstrate thought processes for students, then encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning by promoting discourse and making way for student-generated questions. Students must participate in these conversations to fully master class content and develop good learning habits. If students are actively participating in class by asking questions and responding to others, they will be prepared for corresponding assignments and/or assessments.
Having your camera on and being on time for class is mandatory. Attendance will be taken in each class daily.
Completing all assignments by their due dates is essential to being prepared for class. We work diligently to assign work that is meaningful rather than busywork. As such, if students do not complete assignments, they will be unprepared for class and therefore may find it difficult to engage with planned activities. Additionally, students should have all necessary materials throughout their Remote Learning day.

We believe in a growth mindset- that is, we learn from our mistakes and failures. Students will have several opportunities to master content standards and demonstrate learning. It's okay if something isn't mastered on the first attempt. All we ask is that students put forth their best effort in both their personal and academic lives. Please reach out if you are struggling or have any questions!
