Directors of Student Affairs work in partnership with all units of the college to build an inclusive, supportive, and engaging community of learners. Directors of Student Affairs coordinate student services schedules and assist with campus-wide programming. Direct any recommendations or concerns about the student services at your campus to a Director of Student Affairs. The Ruth G. Shaw Academic Learning Center (ALC) is committed to helping you overcome difficulties with academic coursework, promoting independent learning, and proactively helping students to develop the skills necessary for academic and life-long learning success. The ALC has moved tutoring sessions to a hybrid format, conducted either online or in-person. Schedule tutoring appointments using Schedulicity. All Academic Learning Center tutors are qualified in a relevant area. Tutors also complete specialized training in tutoring techniques and participate in continuing education activities. The Central Piedmont Care Team's purpose is to provide a systematic response to reports of behavior that is concerning or disruptive to the college community. The Care Team is a cross-unit group whose members consist of college staff from Student Services, College Security Services, Counseling, Human Resources, and Academic Affairs. If you have a concern of an immediate threat, please call College Security Services at 704.330.6911. Report a concern to the Care Team online.
Central Piedmont’s Counseling Services helps students manage stress and find new solutions during difficult times. They provide personal counseling to current students, as well as crisis intervention for students who are suicidal, confused, involved in unsafe relationships, or experiencing other emergencies.
Our diverse counseling staff brings unique training, specializations, and backgrounds to the work they do. When scheduling a personal counseling appointment, students are encouraged to communicate any specific preferences regarding experience, specialty, gender, etc. that they feel might be helpful. Counseling Services will accommodate these requests when possible. When not possible, please know that our counselors will be sensitive to your concerns and help arrange a referral when needed.

The Kal Kardous International Student Services Center supports the academic and personal growth of our F-1 international students, whether you need assistance with immigration related issues, resources at the college, or want to learn more about the Charlotte community.
Due to network security measures, there is currently no international access to Central Piedmont online content that requires you to sign-in with Central Piedmont credentials. This means you cannot access online course materials, email accounts, MyCollege, and Brightspace when outside the United States. Access is available in all 50 states, plus territories, military bases, and embassies. If you plan to travel abroad this holiday season, please be aware you will not be able to access Central Piedmont online services from countries other than the United States.

Central Piedmont Archives identify, collect, and preserve archival materials related to the history of the college. Mentoring programs provide a structured and trusted relationship that brings together students with a caring instructor, staff member, or administrator who can offer guidance, support, and encouragement to help overcome challenges, transition to college, and succeed.

We assist Central Piedmont students, family members, and veterans who are transitioning from military duty to civilian life by providing a holistic service approach. Central Piedmont partners with Single Stop, a non-profit organization, to create a one-stop shop that can connect you with a variety of resources you may need to stay focused on your academic goals. The Office of Student Conduct and Civility created a separate site to provide faculty with an overview of student conduct. Faculty are invited to view the video tour of our office and become aware of the functions of the Office of Student Conduct and Civility. This website is intended to serve as a resource for faculty as they support students of Central Piedmont Community College.
For conduct concerns outside of classroom time/environment, faculty are encouraged to submit a Care Team referral. For conduct concerns within the classroom time/environment, faculty are encouraged to call Security for support.
The Central Piedmont Testing and Assessment Center provides comprehensive testing services to Central Piedmont students and faculty, local businesses and industries, as well as to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community and surrounding areas.
Central Piedmont has testing centers at several campuses and provides the following services (testing services availability varies by campus). In-person placement testing is now available. TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO-SSS) is a college retention and degree completion program centered on academic, personal, social, and career support for under-resourced college students. We specialize in academic coaching, tutoring, and academic counseling.
At Central Piedmont, our students' education is more than what they learn in class. The options for student involvement are endless. Students can find a club to join, can talk to the Student Life representative on their campus to join Student Government Association, attend an event, or get involved at their campus. Central Piedmont has over 70 clubs and organizations that students can choose from, as well as honor societies, fitness and recreation, service learning, and leadership opportunities.
