Brightspace Reference Site

The Brightspace learning management system (LMS), created by D2L, is Central Piedmont's new learning environment (brightspace.cpcc.edu). 

This site is intended to be a repository of information and material to assist with the transition to Brightspace and building your Brightspace course(s). We encourage you to bookmark this website for easy access.


Note: If you need a testing or building environment within Brightspace, please create a Personal Model. Personal Models can be created using Course Administration Webtools (CAW). To create a new Personal Model, reference the CAW FAQ Documentation or contact the Service Desk - 704.330.5000.

Getting Started with Brightspace

Content developed in a Shared Model (SM) will be automatically copied into the corresponding live course 14 days prior to the official start date of each course section. Contact your department chair for details about the content of your Shared Model. 

Instructors have access to create personal models for each course they teach. They may develop coursework in these models in whatever way meets their needs.  These models will not contain students, as they are provided for content development purposes only. View the Course Administration Webtools FAQs document for assistance with creating personal models.

If instructors are developing content in their personal models, they will have two options
