I have been coaching nearly my entire adult life. I started coaching baseball with North Jeffco Jr. Baseball in 2004 and I coached two separate teams over 14 years. After my last team transitioned to their respective high school coaches, I took the rest of that year off and started coaching softball the following spring. I have coached softball for 3 years (1 year for Wheat Ridge Softball Association and two years with Hyland Hills). I took the last year off, when we moved to Northern Colorado. When this opportunity arose, I couldn’t help but jump at it to get back into coaching and more importantly, helping young players continue to develop. I was born and raised in the Denver area and relocated to the Severance area in January of 2021. I am looking forward to joining the Colorado Wild organization and working with players to continue their development in the great sport of softball.

Outside of softball, I have a few hobbies. My favorite times are spent with my always supportive wife, and my two daughters, Savanna (20) and Abby (10). Savanna just finished her first year of college and loves music. When she isn’t studying for school she is lost in her tunes and learning about her favorite artists. Abby loves softball and when she isn’t on the field or practicing at home, she likes to build Legos, craft, and play outside with her friends. In my spare time, I am a musician and an up and coming pit master. When time allows, I am either camped out by my smoker or on the road playing music.

Coaching to me is about team building and development. A team that has good comradery and trust is a team that plays well together. Additionally, good relationships between players, coaches, and parents is crucial to growth and success. Having everyone on the same page and working towards the same goals from the start, will make a better experience for all and help players achieve their personal goals. I am goal oriented and will continuously strive to help players have success. Success to me is not only how has the player developed over the season in their skills, but equally important, have they grown in situation awareness on the field.
