School-wide behavior supports are used universally at HMS to encourage positive behaviors in the school as a whole and to support every student. School-wide supports are used to create a positive and welcoming school climate and culture that facilitates academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
Tier 2 behavior supports are used to target students who have not responded to Tier 1 interventions and supports. Students are targeted based on behavioral data collected at school. This data is used in conjunction with the MTSS Behavior Decision Rules.
Tier 3 behavior supports are used as targeted interventions for students who need intensive behavior support. This would include high-risk students who have not responded to Tier 1 or Tier 2 interventions or supports. Students are targeted based on behavioral data collected at school. This data is used in conjunction with the MTSS Behavior Decision Rules.
Decision rules are deciding factors for:
-Identifying the need for Tier 2 or 3 supports
- Moving students amongst the tiers of support
